* Floridians saw thousands of television ads as part of the state’s Republican presidential primary. How many of the spots were positive Mitt Romney ads? Less than 0.1%. Wow.
* Newt Gingrich, who led briefly in Florida a week ago before facing a barrage of attack ads, did not call Romney to congratulate him last night.
* Romney will get Secret Service protection this week. He’ll be the only GOP candidate with this level of security.
* Rick Santorum’s campaign has struggled of late, but he managed to raise over $4.2 million in January.
* The Romney campaign has already picked up quite a few endorsements, but it’s reportedly looking for support from Michele Bachmann.
* Rep. Allen West (R) will switch Florida districts this year in the hopes of remaining in Congress. * The songwriter who penned “Eye of the Tiger” is suing the Gingrich campaign for improper use of his song. * In Hawaii’s U.S. Senate race, new polling shows former Gov. Linda Lingle (R) struggling against her Democratic opponents. * And in Florida, Florida’s former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist acknowledged yesterday he may support President Obama and would consider running for office as a Democrat.
