Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* With less than a week to go, a new NBC News/Marist poll shows Mitt Romney leading Rick Santorum in Michigan by two points, but in general election match-ups, both trail President Obama in the state by wide margins.
* In Arizona, the NBC News/Marist poll also shows Romney with a 16-point lead over Santorum, but only a five-point lead over Obama in the general election.
* The latest Time/CNN/ORC poll, however, shows a much closer primary race in Arizona, with Romney’s lead over Santorum at only four points.
* A new Quinnipiac poll shows Santorum leading Romney at the national level by nine points. If Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are removed from the picture, Santorum’s lead improves to 13 points.
* A new Associated Press-GfK poll shows Santorum with only a one-point lead over Romney at the national level, but more importantly, each of the Republicans trail Obama by wide margins in the poll.
