Today’s installment of campaign-related news items from across the country.
* In the race to replace retiring Sen. Bob Corker (R), voters in Tennessee nominated former Gov. Phil Bredesen (D) and Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R) in their respective primaries, and most observers believe Bredesen has a legitimate shot.
* On a related note, thanks to the results of U.S. House primaries in Tennessee yesterday, the Volunteer State will now have an all-male House delegation in the next Congress.
* Donald Trump yesterday issued a new endorsement of Rep. Steve Stivers (R), urging Ohio voters to support him in next week’s primary. The trouble, however, is that Stivers isn’t competing in a primary next week.
* In New Hampshire, state Senate Minority Leader Jeff Woodburn (D) was arrested on domestic-violence and trespassing charges. Leaders from both parties have called on the Granite State Democrat to resign.
