The Maddow Show staff were literally shouting at each other about this (actually, it may only have been me that was shouting) so I need some bet-settling help. The backstory is that Tricia and I had been chatting about use of the word cruller as mapped in those great dialect survey maps a lot of people were linking to yesterday and I expressed surprise that cruller was so specific to New England. Being from New Hampshire, I thought everyone said cruller.
So today Rachel pointed out, with a rueful eye toward our empty communal food area, that it’s National Doughnut Day, which might usually cause debate about the best place to get them (ahemDonutPlantahem [Vanessa insists Dough, which, ok]) but Tricia brings up the cruller question, and the regional differences were laid bare.
