I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t take more than an hour of TV watching to fill my head with catchy tunes. Lately I’ve been haunted by two commercials in particular: the one with “Snow Day, Snow Day” in the chorus and the Target Christmas commercial that starts off with “It comes around just once a year…”
The Snow Day song, which I thought was for Time Warner, but Google says is for Starbucks (which probably doesn’t reflect well on the commercial’s effectiveness) is actually called Snow Day and it’s by a band called Matt Pond PA:
The Target commercial’s song is by a band called Guster, which I gather from searching around is relatively popular:
The other one that gets stuck in my head is the new one in the Heineken series with the couple that has a weird amount of fun in a sort of party restaurant. I don’t mean that annoying repeating one with the blond lady singing. That’s The Golden Age by a band called The Asteroids Galaxy Tour (and the song itself is less annoying than the commercial version):
