Carly Fiorina, Republican presidential candidate:
Fiorina was the star of this week’s second Republican presidential debate, responding to Donald Trump’s brazen remarks with poise. Fiorina directly addressed Trump’s controversial comments about her appearance, packing a punch when she remarked: “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.”
Nicole Kidman, actress:
Kidman returned to the stage in London this week, playing scientist Rosalind Franklin in “Photograph 51” and receiving rave reviews. Her performance, which critics described as “commanding and intelligent,” left many reviewers wishing the play exceeded 95 minutes. There’s speculation that the play will be turned into a movie, and Kidman could be reprising her role on the big screen.

Named as the WNBA’s most valuable player, Chicago Sky forward Elena Delle Donne averaged 23.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game during the regular season. Donne is already a two-time league all-star, and beat out stiff competition for this most recent honor. Janet Yellen, Federal Reserve chair: All eyes were on the Federal Reserve’s chair this week, with the highly anticipated announcement on a raise to interest rates. Yellen, one of the most influential economic officials in the world, made the decision to keep interest rates at near zero – a move that will impact the job market and financial relationships across the globe.
