A police captain was injured in a shootout Tuesday on the South Side of Chicago, according to local media reports.
One man was dead and another man was arrested after an hours-long standoff between police, NBC station WMAX reported. About 100 cops — and also armored vehicles — had gathered at the scene of the incident.
The police captain was helping U.S. marshals deliver an arrest warrant when he was shot from above, according to the report. The police captain reportedly suffered injuries to his head and shoulder and was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was in stable condition.
