According to the NBC News Exit Poll, 72 percent of Democrats believe Clinton will be the eventual nominee, and 65 percent feel she has a better chance than Sanders to beat Trump.
Key groups backing Clinton included 75 percent of black voters, 72 percent of Democrats age 65 and older, 67 percent of married women and 66 percent of political moderates. Among a third of voters who put a premium on experience when casting votes Tuesday, nine in 10 supported Clinton.
Although Clinton has not secured support from voters who think honesty is the most important candidate quality (only 17 percent voted for her versus 83 percent backing Sanders), a 60 percent majority of Democrats, nevertheless, think she is honest and trustworthy.Recommended
