In her first major interview since her husband’s campaign announcement, Melania Trump said she’s “not ready to get political yet.”
Donald, Melania and their son Barron recently sat down with People magazine in their 66th floor penthouse in Trump Tower.
Melania Trump said she stands by Donald, who is holding onto his lead as the GOP presidential front-runner in the polls, but she didn’t reveal her own opinions on his policies or controversial comments. She knows even her advice would not phase him.
“He is who he is,” she said. “Even if you give him advice, he will maybe take it in, but then he will do it the way he wants to do it.”
Possibly providing the best relationship advice out there, she added, “You cannot change a person. Let them be. Let them be the way they are.”

As for Donald, while he certainly isn’t bored of his campaign, he recognized that he is sacrificing time spent with his wife, five children and seven grandchildren.
“I just don’t have the time that I would love to spend with my children and my wife,” he said. “I see less of my grandchildren than I might like. But they get how important this is.”
The real estate mogul remains just as confident as ever, saying he doesn’t even need to advertise because he is always on television.
“When you see you’re number one in every poll that makes any criticism go away very quickly,” he said. “If I’m able to get the nomination, my polling looks very good against Hillary or whoever it may be. I think I’ll win.” Melania was not quite as outspokenly confident. “It’s a long road. I take it day by day,” she said. “My husband has a lot of people cheering for him. We will see.” According to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 39% of participating voters said they have positive feelings toward Hillary Clinton, while only 25% said they have positive feelings toward Donald Trump.
