On the campaign trail, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been scrutinized by male commentators who suggest, for instance, that she needs to stop shouting. On Thursday night, late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel satirized those critics in a sketch where he “mansplains” how she can improve her speaking skills and outfit choice.

During a sketch on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the host suggested that Clinton should get behind a podium and give a stump speech, while he condescendingly gave her feedback.
“Just talk, and I’ll correct you whenever I feel the need,” he joked. At first, Democratic presidential front-runner was “too loud. “You don’t have to shout like that. It comes off as a little shrill for men,” he said.
He then told her to smile more, and then said it seemed “too faked. Don’t smile like that. Ask yourself, ‘Do I want to be president or do I want to be a Lakers Girl?’”
“Is that a real choice?” Clinton shot back. She later added, “You know, Jimmy, your comments are kind of contradictory. It’s like nothing I do is right.” Kimmel responded, “Exactly, you’re not doing it right. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something is not — you’re not—” “A man?” Clinton responded. The sketch reflects the criticisms of Clinton’s tone of voice and personal style, which her campaign supporters say are sexist and condescending. Arguably, male politicians don’t have to deal with similar comments.
