Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has qualities that are unique in the American political arena — at least, according to his daughter, Ivanka Trump.
At a Forbes magazine women’s summit in New York on Thursday, she lauded her father and described him as someone who has “elevated” the political discourse.
“He’s honest. With him, what you see is what you get — even if you don’t like the topic,” she said according to a report from The Telegraph. “I think people respect the fact that he is bold enough. That is something we have never seen in politics.”

Last June, when he launched his presidential bid, Trump called Mexicans “rapists,” and said he would force Mexico to pay for a wall along the U.S. southern border. He also called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country. On campaign stops and in televised presidential debates, the businessman has become know for his inflammatory rhetoric. Still, his daughter defended her father’s combativeness. “He has elevated — he has created a dialogue around issues, which really is a powerful thing,” Ivanka Trump added. “When you think about leadership, it’s setting the agenda, and he has set the agenda on all the issues that were discussed. And I think that is quite powerful.”
