The Clintons may be one of the closest things the U.S. has to a royal family — and on Monday, they’ll meet with the scion of Great Britain’s real royal family.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton will meet with Prince William and his wife, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, in New York City as part of the royal couples’ three-day visit to the U.S.
The pair, along with baby George, arrived in Manhattan Sunday evening. William, who is second in the line the succession of the British Crown, traveled to Washington, D.C., Monday morning to meet with President Obama and speak at an anti-corruption conference at the World Bank. The duchess will spend the day with Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray in New York.
William will return to New York Monday afternoon and join his wife to attend a reception at the British Consul General’s Residence in the city. Hillary and Clinton will also attend, according to the Prince of Wales’ office.
The reception is co-hosted by the Clinton Foundation, which has made a priority of combating elephant poaching and the illegal ivory trade, and honors the work of conservation groups working on the issue.
