Kasie Hunt is an NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent, covering Congress across all NBC News and MSNBC platforms including “Nightly News with Lester Holt,” “TODAY,” and NBCNews.com. She also hosts MSNBC’s “Kasie DC” at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
On the Hill, her hard-hitting exchanges – with senators like John McCain and Elizabeth Warren and committee chairmen Jason Chaffetz and Devin Nunes – drive headlines on the Trump administration’s relationship with legislators.
Over the last decade, Hunt’s coverage of the major players in Washington D.C. has earned her a reputation for adding fresh angles to the political news cycle.
Hunt previously reported for MSNBC as the network’s political correspondent, where she covered the 2016 election and reported on several candidates, including Donald Trump, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former State Sec. Hillary Clinton. She scored the first interview with then-candidate Trump on the day he announced he was running for office.
During the 2014 midterm elections, Hunt interviewed congressional candidates in almost every key 2014 battleground state for MSNBC’s “States of Play” election series.
