With four more years to go before the next World Cup soccer tournament, FIFA is wasting no time drumming up enthusiasm for the big event. FIFA, the organizer of the World Cup, unveiled its official logo Tuesday for the 2018 tournament set to take place in Moscow, Russia.
The 2018 tournament will air in the U.S. on NBCUniversal’s Telemundo and mun2, which will also air nearly 200 FIFA Events matches in 2015. Tuesday also marked the start of the countdown of Telemundo’s World Cup coverage, which NBCUniversal’s Hispanic Enterprises and Content Chairman Joe Uva called “game-changing” for the company.
“It doesn’t mean just producing soccer games,” Uva said at a press event to preview the network’s television and digital coverage. “It means producing great content for the fans.”
