George Zimmerman’s wife Shellie called Lake Mary Police Monday afternoon saying her spouse was arguing with her and her father, and that he had a hand on his gun, according to Police Chief Steve Bracknell.
Lake Mary police officers later said that Zimmerman did not have a gun during the incident and cops had not seen any firearm. Zimmerman was “free to go” after police questioned him at a home owned by Shellie Zimmerman’s father, Lake Mary Police public information officer Zach Hudson told NBC News. Shellie Zimmerman and her father declined to press charges against her husband.
Police were dispatched to the home Monday afternoon to investigate a “possible domestic battery case.”
Shellie Zimmerman’s father had been hit in the face during an argument at the house, MSNBC’s Craig Melvin reported. In a 911 call to police, 26-year-old Shellie Zimmerman is heard telling her father to get inside the house, “George might start shooting at us, I don’t know.”
