Whitney Phillips is an assistant professor in the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. She studies digital ethics, media history, and political communication. She is the author of “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” and co-author of “The Ambivalent Internet,” “You Are Here,” and “Share Better and Stress Less,” a digital ethics guide for middle grade readers.
