Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina returned to ABC’s “The View” on Friday, insisting she has “thick skin” after some of the show’s hosts had previously poked fun at her appearance.
“I’ve been called all kinds of things. I’ve been called a bimbo from the time I was a secretary to the time I was a CEO,” said Fiorina, who was off-set in New Hampshire.
Her remarks came after co-host Michelle Collins recently said Fiorina “looked demented” during the last GOP debate, while co-host Joy Behar said “Smiling Fiorina” should be a Halloween mask.
Fiorina quickly seized on the attacks, arguing they were part of the “double standard” conservative women face when talking to the “liberal media.”

On Friday, the hosts asked if Fiorina, the GOP’s only female presidential candidate, was using the clash to her advantage and if she was trying to make lemonade out of lemons. The former Hewlett-Packard CEO joked, “You’re telling me you’re lemons?” and noted the show received publicity over the squabble as well.
At one point, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked Fiorina how she will develop a “thicker skin to accept some of the humorous things people say about her.” Behar noted that as a comedian she makes fun of everyone, including Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s pantsuits and former House Speaker John Boehner’s tan.
