Joe Scarborough said Wednesday on Morning Joe he is still waiting for Republicans in office to publicly comment on the Newtown school shooting.
“I’m still waiting to hear a Republican that’s elected to step out and say something like Joe Manchin said. I haven’t heard it yet,” he said.
Manchin, a pro-gun Democratic senator from West Virginia said Monday on Morning Joe he believed everything should be on the table when it came to talking about reforming gun legislation. Similarly, Democratic Va. Sen. Mark Warner—who has an A rating from the National Rifle Association—is calling for a fresh look at assault weapons and ammunition clips.
As of now, there’s been little comment from the GOP, save for Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio announcing via his spokesman, Alex Conant, that he”s “…looking for public policy changes that would prevent such a horrible event from happening again.”
