Days after Donald Trump read aloud a Republican rival’s cell phone number on national television, the real-estate-mogul-turned-presidential-candidate is getting a taste of his own medicine.
Gawker published a New York City phone number on Monday afternoon, which is the same one Trump used to call msnbc in June.
“Since Trump, in his considered political judgment, has decided that opening up a direct, personal channel of communications between his supporters and his primary opponents is a noble campaign tactic, we think it’s only fair and right that Republican primary voters be able to reach out to Trump himself,” the site wrote. “If it is the case—as Trump’s release of Graham’s number implicitly argues—that our political discourse improves when voters can ring up candidates on their private cell phones, then we are happy to add Trump’s cell phone number to the body of public knowledge. You can reach Donald Trump at 917-***-****.”

Despite the fact that Trump used this number to call msnbc in June, the campaign downplayed it, saying “it’s a very old number. This is not one he uses. Mr. Trump has several numbers so this is not an issue.”
Trump read fellow Republican candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham’s cell phone number aloud twice at a South Carolina campaign event, after Graham called him a “jackass” on a television show earlier in the day.
“Let’s give it a try,” Trump told the crowd.
Graham later destroyed his cell phone in spectacular fashion in a video produced by the Independent Journal Review.
