That has been a theme of Mr. Romney’s campaign, but not usually on the day Mr. Romney releases his tax returns and shows he made many millions on his investments and puts nothing in Line 7 — the one for wages, the one for money you made while working.
When President Obama argues that asking the rich to pay their share is not a matter of envy, he’s driving right at the image of Mitt Romney as a man who does not work and who cannot understand the concerns of those who do. The president is betting that’ll work in his favor.
