Hillary and Bill Clinton have made more than $140 million combined since 2007 and have paid almost $44 million in federal taxes, newly released tax returns for the Democratic presidential candidate show.
Clinton posted eight years of tax returns on her website Friday afternoon, covering the years between her last major tax disclosure as a presidential candidate in 2008 and last year.
In a statement, the Clinton campaign said that since 2007, the Democratic frontrunner has paid a total of $43,885,310 in federal taxes and $13,625,777 in state and local income taxes, and she’s given a total of nearly $15 million to charity.
“Families like mine that reap rewards from our economy have a responsibility to pay our fair share,” Clinton said, contrasting her tax proposals with those of her Republican opponents.

For 2014, Clinton paid an effective federal tax rate of 35.7 percent, her campaign calculates. When state, federal and local taxes are included, that estimate goes up to 45.8 percent.
She gave 10.8% of her income to charity last year.
Clinton aides argue that, between her past releases as a presidential candidate and her husband’s public releases as a public official, the couple’s tax returns are now publicly available going back to 1977.
Earlier this year, Jeb Bush released 33 years of tax information, estimating that he has paid an effective tax rate of 36 percent since 1981.
The release comes on the same day that Clinton released a letter from a doctor documenting her “excellent physical condition” and including details about her 2012 concussion and treatment for thrombosis. Also Friday, the State Department released a new tranche of emails from Clinton’s email server.
