Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* Following up on yesterday’s revelations about the Romney campaign requesting 10 years’ worth of tax returns from prospective running mates, the Obama campaign has a new video out this morning listing the “Top Five Reasons Why Mitt Romney Won’t Release More Tax Returns.”
* A new national CBS News/New York Times poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by three (49% to 46%) among likely voters, and by eight (51% to 43%) among registered voters.
* In Ohio, a new NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll shows Obama leading Romney by seven points, 50% to 43%. The same poll shows Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) leading Josh Mandel (R) in Ohio’s Senate race, 49% to 42%.
* In Florida, the new NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll shows Obama leading Romney by five points, 49% to 44%. The same poll shows Sen. Bill Nelson (D) leading Rep. Connie Mack IV (R) in Florida’s Senate race, 51% to 37%.
* In Virginia, the new NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll shows Obama leading Romney by five points, 49% to 44%. The same poll shows Tim Kaine (D) tied with George Allen (R) in Virginia’s Senate race at 46% each.
