There is no doubt that Democrats and the Obama 2012 campaign should be worried about Mitt Romney’s fundraising levels, said Democratic National Committee Executive Director Patrick Gasoard on Sunday morning. Gaspard, who was National Political Director of Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, admitted on Up w/ Chris Hayes that “of course we have to be concerned” about Romney’s campaign chest. “When you’re running a national campaign, you always have to be concerned about the resources that you have in order to get your message out and animate your activists,” Gasbard said.
Romney raised nearly $17 million more than Obama in the month of May. Romney outraising Obama “concerns me gravely,” David Plouffe, Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, has admitted. “From a political standpoint, I’m almost as worried about that as I am about the question of what the economy’s gonna do over the next three or four months.”
